6 more die from Coronavirus, 676 fresh cases
The single-day detection rate against the testing stands at 1.54%
More six people have died from coronavirus and 676 people have tested positive in the country in a span of 24 hours until Friday morning.
Of the deceased, four were men and two were women. They died at diffrerent hospitals across the country, says the regular bulletin of the health directorate.
Bangladesh has reported 549,184 coronavirus cases so far. Of them, 8,441 died from the virus infection. Meantime, 501,144 people recovered from Covid-19.
In the past 24 hours, the country tested 13,710 samples in 219 labs across the country. The single-day detection rate against the testing stands at 1.54%.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year, while the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
At the beginning of the detection, the daily infection rate was low. It started to rise in May and then peaked at 31% on 3 August.
The country had been witnessing a decline in the daily infection rate since then. In the last 24 days, the infection rate was below 3% — fulfilling the less than 5% criterion to term the virus spread as endemic.
The country on 7 February rolled out the much-anticipated Covid vaccination and so far immunised more than 1% of the population.
