Agrani Bank principal branch locked down as banker tested Covid-19 positive

Agrani Bank's principal branch in Dilkusha area of the capital has been locked down after an employee of the branch was tested positive for Covid-19.
The management of the branch on Wednesday announced putting the outlet under lockdown for 14 days beginning from Thursday.
"Though the coronavirus-positive employee was working outside of the cash section, we have sent 63 employees into home quarantine," said by Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam, managing director (MD) of Agrani Bank.
"The employee attended office on Sunday last. He started feeling uncomfortable few moments after entering the office," Shams-Ul Islam told The Business Standard.
Being informed about the situation, we forced him to leave the office. On Tuesday, he tested himself at the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research, and the test result was revealed the following day, he said.

Meanwhile, bankers across the country expressed fears as they are still serving though the entire country has gone to a shutdown. The rush of clients is increasing every day in the branches.
According to a Bangladesh Bank circular, it observed that clients are not maintaining social distance. To maintain social distance at the branches - according to the guideline of World Health Organisation - banks can take help of the local administration, the circular said on Wednesday.
