One more person in Narayanganj tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday, taking the total number of infections to 11.
The infected man, Md Baki, lives in Dhaka.
He went to a Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Manikganj and went to his daughter's house at Lamapara area in Fatullah from there on Saturday.
Later, he got sick.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research collected samples from him at night.
The test result came out positive on Sunday noon.
After getting the news, Narayanganj police and the local authorities went to the area.
The Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Narayanganj Sadar, Nahida Barik, put the house and 208 families of the area on lockdown.
She said, "Baki has been sent to institutional quarantine under the supervision of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research."
"The upazila administration will supply necessary commodities to the families that were put on lockdown."
The additional superintendent of police in Narayanganj, Mehedi Imran Siddique, said police were on alert to ensure that nobody was defying the lockdown.
He said security was beefed up so that nobody could go out.
So far, two coronavirus patients have died in Narayanganj. A total of 1,200 families are now on lockdown in the city.
Of the 11 patients, five are under medical care and four have recovered.
Narayanganj was cut off from other districts on Sunday afternoon.
A woman named Putul was the first coronavirus death victim of Narayanganj. Two days after she died, samples were collected and the test result came out positive.
