Covid-19 testing lab increased to 85
However, the testing rate has not risen in line with the number of laboratories

Novus Clinical Research Services Limited has been added to the list of authorised Covid-19 testing laboratory in the country, taking the total to 85.
However, the testing rate has not risen in line with the number of laboratories.
Bangladesh confirmed 34 more deaths from Covid-19 and 2,487 new cases of infection in the last 24 hours ending at 8am on Sunday.
With this, the death toll from the virus rose to 3,399 and infections to 257,600.
In the last 24 hours, 11,014 samples were collected and 10,759 were tested in 85 labs across the country. So far 1,260,319 samples have been tested.
During the same time, the infection rate stood at 23.12 percent.
The overall rate in the country till date was 20.44 percent and the death rate stood at 1.32 percent of all cases detected so far.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana revealed the latest numbers during a daily online bulletin on Sunday.
Dr Nasima also said 1,766 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours while 148,370 – 57.60 percent of all infected – fully recovered.
"Of the deceased, 31 were men and three women. And 14 of them were from Dhaka division, seven from Khulna, six from Chattogram, four from Rajshahi, two from Rangpur and one from Mymensingh."
Thirty-two of the victims died at hospitals and two at home, Dr Nasima added. "So far, 2,686 men and 713 women have died from the virus."
Of the victims, 1,627 were from Dhaka division, 804 from Chattogram, 259 from Khulna, 213 from Rajshahi, 158 from Sylhet, 134 from Rangpur, 132 from Barishal, and 72 from Mymensingh, Dr Nasima said.
