Some 159 people were tested positive for coronavirus and five died from the virus in the last 24 hours in Chattogram.
The region has a tally of 7,625 confirmed cases with 165 deaths so far, according to the Chattogram Civil Surgeon's Office.
"In the last 24 hours, 890 samples were tested in six different labs," said Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram.
Among the newly infected patients, 82 are from the port city and 77 are from different upazilas of Chattogram.
