Chinese medical experts share learnings from Covid-19 with police
They highlighted and reiterated the importance of maintaining social distancing
The visiting Chinese medical experts joined a session on capacity building and experience sharing on the prevention and control of Covid 19 with the members of Bangladesh Police.
Md Ashraful Islam, the Diplomatic Security Division's deputy commissioner, moderated the session that took place at its premises in Dhaka on Sunday.
Of the Chinese experts, Ms Xianyu Shuming, an expert in hospital infection control and also a professor and director of the Hospital Infection Control Office, LIU Haitang, an expert in critical caring, the head nurse of an intensive care unit and also the deputy chief nurse briefed the members of the Diplomatic Security Division.
Yan Hualong, deputy chief of mission and also minister counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, joined them too.
The 10-member Chinese team with firsthand experience in dealing with Covid-19 arrived on June 8.
The visiting delegation opined that sufficient ventilation is very important to keep a room virus-free.
The Chinese experts said that the "infected persons' leftover belongings can be disinfected through cleaning, sunbath and with a disinfectant."
However, they highlighted and reiterated the importance of maintaining social distancing.
The team thanked Bangladeshi people for their continuous support during the early outbreak in China.
The experts also lauded the compliance maintained by Bangladesh Police.
Ashraful Islam said, "The Diplomatic Security Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police is active in maintaining health and hygiene."
He also reiterated continuous cooperation and assistance between the Diplomatic Security Division and the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
