Coronavirus treatment begins at CMCH

The treatment of corona-infected patients started at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Thursday.
City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin inaugurated the corona patients unit at CMCH in the presence of Divisional Commissioner, Divisional Health Director, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram and BMA leaders on Thursday morning.
CMCH assistant director Dr Aftabul Islam told BSS that the treatment activities of coronavirus patients started at the hospital from Thursday after creating 100 beds, separate block with monitoring and isolation unit.
He told that the coronavirus patients have increased in Chattogram district alarmingly, but the sufficient treatment facilities would not prevail there.
Considering the coronavirus situation in Chattogram, a coronavirus treatment ward has been set up in CMCH from Thursday after getting permission from the health directorate, he added.
Earlier, treatment of coronavirus patients started at Chattogram General Hospital with 100 beds and 30 beds at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) at city's Fuzdarhat.
Later another, 40-beds unit was built at field hospital in Salimpur under private initiative.
