Covid-19 vaccination: BNP lawmaker thanks govt
It is not true that BNP is against vaccination, he said
The government deserves thanks for the vaccination campaign it has undertaken to contain the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
Lawmaker of Bogura-6 constituency and district BNP Convener Golam Md Siraj said this while confirming that he has been vaccinated a few days ago.
"I am astonished to know that 130 nations in the world have not yet received any vaccine. But we have. The government deserves thanks for this. After all, good deeds must be appreciated," said the lawmaker while encouraging party leaders and activists for getting vaccinated.
He said that he received the vaccine few days ago but did not develop any complications after the inoculation.
There is propaganda against BNP that they are against vaccination which is not true, the Bogra lawmaker added.
Meanwhile, another BNP lawmaker from Bogura-4 constituency Md Mosharraf Hossain, who along with his wife took the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines a week ago, also echoed the aforementioned lawmaker, saying that BNP is against vaccination is nothing but a rumour.
He said BNP does not promote anything bad. There is no directive from BNP to avoid vaccines. Moreover, every intelligent citizen should take vaccines.
"Party leaders and activists are taking vaccines. However, the government should create public awareness about vaccination. People should be assured that they would be provided treatment in case of illness after inoculation," he added.
