Japan East West Medical College Hospital inaugurated as Covid-19 hospital
The hospital will soon start admitting Covid-19 infected patient along with conducting its own sample testing
The 300-bed Japan East West Medical College Hospital has been inaugurated as a dedicated Covid-19 hospital to tackle the ongoing pandemic.
East West Medical College of Bangladesh, Green Hospital Supply, Inc. (Japan) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in a joint venture inaugurated the hospital on Saturday.
The hospital will soon start admitting Covid-19 infected patient along with conducting its own sample testing.
The inauguration ceremony was held online over video conference at 12:00 p.m. and was presided over by the Ministry of Health & Family Planning of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Mr Zahid Maleque, MP.
The Honourable Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Planning; the President of Bangladesh Private Medical College Association, Mr M.A. Mubin Khan and the Representative of JICA in Bangladesh also attended the inauguration programme over the video conference.
The hospital is of 300 bed comprising of 240 ward beds, 12 ICU, 12 HDU and 36 Isolation Cabins.
Other facilities include updating the families of the patients over online regarding patients' health conditions, controlling the risk of infection by way of artificially creating negative atmospheric pressure within the hospital.
Along with testing for Covid-19 in its own P.C.R Lab and delivering the report within 24 hours, management of Wastes by way of ETP and STP and 24 Hours Consultation Facility.
