Authorities have locked down Mymensingh today to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in the district.
The lockdown will be effective from Tuesday 5pm and continue until further notice, says a circular signed by the district's Deputy Commissioner Md Mizanur Rahman.
"The decision was taken after a meeting with the district committee formed to control and prevent the spread of coronavirus and the district civil surgeon," the circular reads.
Public transports will be completely shut down during the lockdown. No one will be allowed to get in or out of the district.
Emergency services, such as medical, food supply chain etc will be out of the purview of restriction.
Actions will be taken against anyone who will not comply with the lockdown, the circular further reads.
