No Covid-19 tests, treatment except in govt-approved institutions: DGHS
The people are advised to take Covid-19 test and treatment only from government hospitals and government-approved private hospitals and diagnostic centres
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has advised the people not to take Covid-19 test or treatment from private hospitals or diagnostic centres which are not approved by the government.
The advice came on Monday through a press release signed by Dr Mostafa Moin Uddin, joint member secretary of the committee on information management, mass communication and community mobilisation regarding Covid-19.
According to the press release, many private hospitals or diagnostic centres in different parts of the country are reportedly deceiving people in the name of detecting Covid-19 and treating Covid patients without government approval, proper kits, equipment and skilled manpower.
People are being swindled in the name of proper diagnosis and treatment by visiting these private hospitals and diagnostic centres, putting their lives at risk.
In this situation, the public is being advised to take Covid-19 test and treatment only from government hospitals and government-approved private hospitals and diagnostic centres.
The press release further said if anyone is found to be cheating, they are kindly requested to inform the local health authorities, administration and law enforcement.
