Six policemen have already died of the virus while about 1,500 have been infected
Police are forming special teams comprising senior officials to visit each coronavirus-infected member in person.
Various police units are doing this while maintaining a safe distance as per the direction of the inspector general of police, Assistant Inspector General of police headquarters Sohail Rana said in a press release on Friday.

"Initially, these special teams will visit each member in person, inquire about their treatment, find out various problems they are facing in hospital or in isolation, and take immediate action to ensure that they receive the necessary treatment as advised by doctor," Sohail explained.
Police are working relentlessly to ensure the safety of the people during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Six policemen have already died of the virus while about 1,500 have been infected.
Under the direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed, all necessary steps have been taken for the well-being and welfare of the infected policemen, the press release said.
It said medical treatment and services for policemen are being increased.
Meanwhile, a special team of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) under direct supervision of the DMP commissioner visited the infected police officials at the Central Police Hospital, DMP's traffic barracks, and various units of police in Rajarbagh on Friday.
The infected policemen told the team about their various problems and the latter took immediate steps to solve those.
So far, a total of 98 policemen have recovered from coronavirus.
As per the direction of the IGP, all measures have been taken at the Central Police Hospital to ensure proper treatment for the infected policemen. Arrangements have also been made for their treatment at Impulse Hospital, a 250-bed private hospital in Dhaka.
Moreover, hospitals are being rented in six divisional cities and all the necessary facilities are being added there.
The IGP has given strict instructions to ensure overall welfare of the infected police officials. In addition, he is personally talking to the unit commanders, constantly inquiring and giving necessary directions.
