Ferry operations resumed on Paturia-Daulatdia route at 9am this morning, following an 11-hour suspension because of the cyclone Bulbul.
However, plying of launches and speedboats is yet to get permission from the authorities.
Abu Abdullah Roni, manager of Daulatdia Terminal (Commerce), told The Business Standard that ferry operations remained suspended since 10pm yesterday.
"The weather is better now. It is suitable for operating ferries. That is why we resumed the service with permission from top officials," he said.
"A total of 17 ferries started operations on the route. The long queue of vehicles at both ends of the route will be cleared soon," he added.
