Bank Asia provides reaper machines for farmers in Rajshahi, Naogaon
To overcome the labour shortage due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bank Asia Limited distributed free reaper machines to farmers in Rajshahi and Naogaon districts.
To make this donation, the bank's officials, earlier, raised a fund, said a press statement on Sunday.
With the donation money, the bank, on April 30, provided farmers with six reaper machines at a programme in Mondumala of Rajshahi district.
Each machine could harvest the crops of three Bigha land in an hour, the press statement said.
Sushanto Kumar Mahato, UNO of Tanor Upazila in Rajshahi, Abdullah Al Mamun, UNO of Naogaon Sadar Upazila, and Ekram Hossain, manager of the bank's Rajshahi Branch, attended the event.
It is here mentionable that the farmers in Haor region are suffering from labour shortage for reaping their harvests amid the Covid-19 outbreak.
