Brac Bank wins 2020-21 CACT T-40 championship
It defeated City Bank Limited Cricket Team by four runs
Brac Bank Cricket Team has won the 2020-21 Corporate Amateur Cricket Tournament (CACT) T40 by defeating City Bank Limited Cricket Team by four runs in the final match.
It is Brac Bank's maiden CACT championship, read a press release on Saturday.
The final game took place at the BKSP Cricket Field on Friday, it added.
Brac Bank gave a target of 239 runs after City Bank won the toss and sent them to bat. City Bank reached 234 runs with 11 runs required in the breathtaking final over.
Brac Bank's Ferose Mahmud bowled the last over and made three run-outs to seal the match. Earlier, he scored 63 of 58 balls, the highest among the Brac Bank batters. Ferose was named Man of the Match.
Brac Bank's Managing Director and CEO, Selim RF Hussain was present at the final game and the prize-giving ceremony.
He said, "I thank the organisers for pulling off an excellent tournament. They were no less than professional organisers. It was a nail-biting finish to a wonderful day of cricket. The day could not have ended better – with a Brac Bank victory."
The Corporate Amateur Cricket Association, organiser of CACT, was established in 2011.
