City Bank adopts Oracle service for IT infrastructure development

As part of its vision to become a bank of dependability, credibility, applicability and reliability for clients, The City Bank – one of the leading commercial banks in Bangladesh – has adopted Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to modernise its key applications.

Meanwhile, the bank's move towards this second-generation cloud infrastructure, has upgraded the performance of its banking applications by 20%, reducing operating costs by 10%.
To help achieve its vision of becoming "a financial supermarket," the bank has emphasised the importance of delivering value and convenience for its customers and optimising its processes to enhance operational efficiency.
"As one of the most digitally and technologically progressive private sector commercial banks in the country, we have plans to adopt the latest technological innovations to devise a long-term strategic roadmap for our IT infrastructure," said Mohammed Anisur Rahman, head of IT at The City Bank.
"After a competitive evaluation of vendors such as AWS and local solution providers, we selected Oracle Cloud for its price-performance benefits and provision of service level agreements for performance, management and availability," he added.
"With the deployment of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, The City Bank has been able to improve the reliability and availability of its digital banking platform, providing its customers with innovative products and excellent services," said Arshad Pervaiz, country head, technology and cloud platform business at Oracle Bangladesh.
