Chartered aircraft and helicopters will be costlier as the government increased supplementary duty to 30 percent from 25 percent in the proposed budget for 2020-21 fiscal year.
The duty was also increased by 5 percent in the last fiscal year's budget.
Chartered flight operation increased drastically during the pandemic with people hiring aircraft for emergency travel amid suspension of flight operation worldwide.
Recently, local operators introduced charter flight in the domestic routes due to passenger shortage in the scheduled flights amid fear of virus contamination.
The increase of supplementary duty will increase travel cost for air travellers also.
