Foreign earning in the service sector of Bangladesh mainly comes from transportation in sea, air, rail and road; business and personal travel, insurance services, telecommunication and information services, construction, computer services, intellectual properties; personal, cultural and recreational services and others business services.
To get an accurate picture of the country’s overall export, the government started counting foreign earnings from service sector since FY17.

Country’s export earnings from goods in FY19 was $40.53 billion – $1.53 billion higher than government’s target of $39 billion.
The government has set an export earning target of $51 billion for FY20 – $44 billion in goods and $7 billion in services.
