Turnover on the DSE trading floor has slumped by 49 percent to Tk19.04 crore in the first session
Stocks witnessed yet another flat session during the early hours today as investors remained cautious – owing to uncertainty looming over the economy due to the pandemic.
According to the market review of a brokerage house, the premiere bourse witnessed a flat session as the pandemic situation has been showing no sign of improvement and looming uncertainty has overshadowed economic growth.
"Most of the shares remained stuck on the trading floor due to lack of participation from the investors," the review added.
In the first one-and-half-hour of the trading, DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchanges (DSE), slightly increased by 0.62 points – or 0.015 percent - to reach at 3,963 till 11:30am.
However at the same time, the Shariah-based DSES index slightly dropped by 0.04 points to settle at 918 and the blue-chip index DS30 declined 0.03 points to stand at 1,326.

Out of the 213 issues traded during the same time frame, only 18 company's share prices advanced, 15 declined, and 180 remained unchanged.
The benchmark index CAPSI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has increased 4.23 points to close at 11,252.
