Shopping malls closure extended till April 4
When the Shop Owners' Association closed the shopping malls from March 25 amid the fears of coronavirus spread, they expected to reopen the markets at the end of March.
But today, the association has extended the closure till April 4.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, association's president Helal Uddin said, "We took the decision in line with the government order to keep all public and private offices closed till April 4."
"We will make fresh announcement later if government extends the public holiday further," he added.
Earlier on March 22, the Shop Owners' Association decided to shutter shopping malls in the capital from March 25 to 31 due to coronavirus.
The following day, the government announced that all public and private offices will remain shut from March 26 to April 4 to control the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.
