Gigi Hadid with Rohingya community
Last year, she traveled to Bangladesh, visiting Rohingya Muslim refugees as part of a United Nations Children’s Fund Initiative.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid needs no introduction when it comes to her popularity and fame.
She is considered one of the most influential icons right now.
She also happens to be a role model; with everything she does behind the scenes to help others.
Last year, she traveled to Bangladesh, visiting Rohingya Muslim refugees as part of a United Nations Children’s Fund Initiative.
Hadid visited Cox’s Bazar to see, first hand, the impact that UNICEF and supporting organizations have on the lives of the Rohingya refugees, the largest refugee camp in the world.
She shared in her Twitter account, ‘’ The Rohingyas are originally from what is now northern Rakhine State, Myanmar, formerly known as Arakan, Burma.
They’ve all fled the violence, walking dozens of days through terrain, water, starvation + traumatic experiences to get to the Refugee camps in Cox’Bazar, Bangladesh.”
Hadid reposted some pictures from her visit last year, asking her followers to donate, help or even raise awareness on the matter.
The album garnered over a million likes in less than 24 hours.
