Jaya-Prosenjit's 'Robibaar' released outside Dhaka
The release date of the film was changed due to various reasons
The much awaited film, "Robibaar" starring Jaya Ahsan and Prasenjit Chatterjee was released yesterday in a few cities outside Dhaka. The film is set to hit the theatres in Dhaka next week.
However, film enthusiasts do not like the fact that the film got released without any proper promotion. SAFTA agreement allowed the distributor Anonno Mamun to release the film in Bangladesh under the banner of Action-Cut Entertainment.
Mamun's film "Abar Bosonto" will release in Kolkata under the same agreement. Last year, the film was released nationwide during Eid-Ul-Fitr. Mamun told The Business Standard that it was easier for him to release the film first in other cities.
"We have to go through a lot of complicated processes to release a film in Bangladesh. We released 'Robibaar' at theatres outside Dhaka for now, and later we will release it in Dhaka in a number of cinema halls and cineplex."
The release date of the film was changed due to various reasons. The film - written and directed by Atanu Ghosh, is produced by Echo Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
The director of photography for the film is Appu Prabhakar while it was edited by Sujay Datta Ray. Debojyoti Mishra composed the music for the film.
The film is a story of two characters Sayoni, portrayed by Jaya, and Asimabha, portrayed by Prasenjit. Sayoni is a law officer in a corporate farm who meets Asimabha, a brilliant man leading a devious life. Both characters go through a unique journey with a curious interplay of conflict, intrigue, and surprise.
