Although the existence of the watches has not been confirmed by the company, speculation say it could be the Gen 6 Fossil watch line-up.
Fossil is all set to introduce some new Android Wear powered smartwatches in the market. We are not talking about a couple of watches but at least five of them as they have been listed on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) website. Although the existence of the watches has not been confirmed by the company, speculation say it could be the Gen 6 Fossil watch line-up.
These five watches were found mentioned in two listings from Fossil Technologies, Inc. While one of them mentioned model numbers — DW11F1 and DW11F2, the other one mentioned C1NF1, C1CF1, and C1EF1. It is worth adding that the DW11F1 and DW11F2 model numbers have a similar prefix that were there for the Fossil Gen 5 - DW10F1 and DW10F2 – indicating that these could be the premium versions and not the ones coming from partner brands like Skagen or Diesel.
As for the other three Android Wear smartwatch models, 9to5Google speculates them to fall under the Fossil brand name as well. Although it is not for sure what will this "C" be called.
There is not much known about the specifications of these smartwatches. However, since the listing states Gen 6 watches to feature the same Bluetooth designs as gen 5 models, the chipset might stay the same this time - Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100.
This could be a disappointing news for Android Wear fans as it would mean there will not be Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100, which was announced late last month. At the time of the launch, Qualcomm said that its Wear 4100 delivers up to 85 percent higher performance than the predecessor, Snapdragon 3100 chip.
