Bangladeshi envoy requests Jordan to open embassy in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh ambassador also requested that the Jordanian foreign secretary take initiative to arrange meetings between the business communities of the two countries
Bangladesh Ambassador to Jordan Nahida Sobhan has held a meeting with the newly-appointed foreign secretary of that country Dr Yusef Batain.
At the meeting, the Bangladesh ambassador requested that the Jordanian foreign secretary open an embassy in Bangladesh, read a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.
During the meeting, they discussed: convening bilateral foreign office consultations, tourism, commerce, investment, employment, and strengthening bilateral relations regarding Bangladeshi workers.
The Bangladesh ambassador also requested that Dr Yusef Batain take initiative in arranging meetings between the business communities of the two countries.
Nahida Sobhan praised the Jordanian government for successfully running its anti-novel-coronavirus programmes.
She also expressed satisfaction over the country's government's initiatives to ensure labour rights – including the rights of the expatriate workers in Jordan.
