Award ceremony of Health for All Film Festival to air on May 12
Jury members include film writer and director Richard Curtis, composer Ricky Kej, singer and songwriter Angélique Kidjo, and actor and director Wagner Moura
The World Health Organization (WHO) will stream its virtual online award ceremony titled Health for all Film Festival live on May 12.
During the ceremony, the WHO will announce the names of the five winners of the health organisation's first ever Health for All Film Festival, read a press release.
Director-General of WHO Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and jury members will announce the names of the winners at 17:30 Central European Summer Time (CEST).
The media questions and answers will be held at 18:10 CEST and the award-winning films will be shown at 18:30 CEST through the WHO YouTube channel.
Jury members include film writer and director Richard Curtis, former director of Annecy International Animation Films Festival Patrick Eveno, composer Ricky Kej, singer and songwriter Angélique Kidjo, film documentary producer Barbara Miller, and actor and director Wagner Moura. Many of the jury members will join the event.
The Health for All Film Festival has attracted nearly 1,300 short film submissions – both amateur and professional – from more than 110 countries.
The official selection was made of 15 titles in each of the three initial competition categories – video reports, animation films and films about nurses and midwives.
An additional specific selection was recently added for short films about noncommunicable diseases and another one will be added later in the year for short films about mental health, reads the press release.
