'Meena' teaches children how to fight the deadly virus

Popular cartoon character Meena embarked on a new journey to fight the deadly virus in the latest episode of the popular animated cartoon. The episode titled, "Meena's Obhijaan," aired on March 20 to educate both children and adults on how to fight deadly viruses like Covid-19 and stop it from infecting everybody.
The episode was aired on the official Facebook page of Unicef Bangladesh.

The opening scene of the episode shows Meena going to school while Raju is sick and coughing and sneezing constantly.
On her way to school, Meena notices other villagers are suffering from the same symptoms as Raju. Her classmates and teacher also show similar symptoms.
Curious, Meena asks her teacher what is going on and then she gets a book from her teacher on how viral diseases spread. The book Meena reads is very detailed with photos and descriptions.
While reading the book Meena falls asleep and starts dreaming about the virus. In her dream, she learns how to protect the villagers from the virus, which is targeting villagers who do not wash their hands and are ignorant about personal hygiene and cleanliness.
There are dramatic scenes in which Meena prepares the villagers to fight the war against the virus. Through their combined effort and Meena's determination, the episode ends with a ray of hope which we all need while in COVID-19 isolation. Some of the scenes also highlight how the virus is spread through sneezing and cough and how it also gets weaker if we wash our hands properly and careful while down with cold.
By reading the book, Meena learns more about viral diseases and how people can protect themselves by using soaps to wash hands and using handkerchiefs while sneezing or coughing.

Directed by Chandan Kumar Barman, the episode assembles a wide range of creative teams. The background score and sound make the episode more enjoyable.
Unicef's popular children's animated cartoon series Meena has been educating children and their parents on important issues like gender equality, health, child rights, child marriage and many more, since 1993.
Meena has become a symbol of hope for over two decades, which makes this episode a great awareness campaign to fight the COVID-19.
