A Season of Bangla Drama: Europe’s most extensive showcasing of Bangla culture goes online this year
This year's festival will continue till 21 November
A Season of Bangla Drama, Europe's largest Bengali culture festival, is back for the 18th year, this time entirely online in response to the pandemic.
The annual drama festival takes place every November, exploring Bengali culture and heritage.
This year's festival will continue till 21 November with the theme of "Coming of Age." The festival includes plays from groups based in the UK, Bangladesh, and India.
London-based "Amra Theatre Group" presented their second production, "Daal-Bhaat: Us Two Bengali Girls," written and directed by Syeda Tasmia Tahia.
The drama, filmed in one take in a Covid-secured bubble, explores estranged sisters' relationship as they sort through a box of memories, reflecting on growing apart and growing up.
