Six of a family quarantined in Jashore
One more Italy-returnee was kept in isolation in Chandpur yesterday
Six members of a family have been kept in home quarantine in Jashore's Chowgachha upazila.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Upazila Health Officer Lutfunnahar said, "They have been quarantined as two Italy-returnee relatives visited the family on Tuesday."
Earlier on March 8, two Italy-returnees and one other were found infected with coronavirus in Bangladesh. Two of them were tested negative in the first test by the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR). They will be released if their second test results negative.
One more Italy-returnee was kept in isolation in Chandpur yesterday for having symptoms of the deadly coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the government of Italy urged its people to "stay at home" as they limited travel and banned public gatherings across the whole country to combat the threat posed by the novel coronavirus.
The coronavirus – believed to have originated late last year in a seafood market that was illegally selling wildlife in Wuhan, China – has spread to different parts of China, as well as to at least 110 countries across the globe.
