Coronavirus prompts panic shopping in Dhaka

People in Dhaka are buying more and more of the household essential products in the wake of the first three coronavirus cases reported on Sunday.
In the capital's Karwan Bazar, many people were seen buying sackloads of different products on Monday.
Shamim Hossain, a businessman, bought an assortment of products, including five boxes of tissue papers, 5kg sugar, 2kg tea leaf packet, liquid handwash, five Lifebuoy soaps, five litres of soybean oil, 4kg lentil and 10kg onion.
"There are possibilities of coronavirus spreading from anywhere. I am buying all I need now so that I do not have to come to the market often," he told The Business Standard while shopping from Al-Amin Traders at the Karwan Bazar kitchen market.
