Anamul Haque and Taijul Islam has been included in the 14-man squad for the upcoming Sri lanka series as Abu Jayed misses out
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 14-man squad for their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. Anamul Haque and Taijul Islam replaces Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das, whereas Abu Jayed Rahi misses out.
World Cup hero Shakib Al Hasan asked for a leave after the World Cup, and as the leave was granted he will not play the series. So won’t Liton Das, who will be getting married on the 28th of this month. Taijul Islam has been brought in to cover up for Shakib’s left arm spin, whereas Anamul will be playing as the backup to openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar. Abu Jayed Rahi is the other player from the World Cup squad who has not been picked.
Mashrafe Mortaza will be continuing as captain, and the others retain their place from the World Cup.
The three-match ODI series will commence on 26th July, and end on the 31st of this month.
