Andre Russell set to play for Rajshahi Royals
Russell was not included in the players’ draft, but Rajshahi used the option of signing two players outside the draft with signing the Caribbean.
West Indian allrounder Andre Russell will be playing for Rajshahi Royals in the upcoming Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL).
Russell was not included in the players' draft, but Rajshahi used the option of signing two players outside the draft with signing the Caribbean. Rajshahi earlier used this option to sign Pakistan allrounder Shoaib Malik.
Russell had played for Dhaka Dynamites in the previous edition of BPL where he scored 299 runs and picked up 14 wickets.
Rajshahi's squad is now pretty strong with the likes of Russell, Malik, Liton Das and Afif Hossain. They also have Chaminda Vaas as their bowling coach with Rajin Saleh as their assistant head coach.
The Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier league kicks off on December 8 with a grand opening ceremony. The first match will be held at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on the 11th of December.
This is a special edition of the BPL, arranged by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). There are no franchises this time around, but every team will have sponsors.
