Messi and Argentina to play Friendly in Dhaka
Two time world champions set to arrive in November
Argentina will face Paraguay in a friendly on November 18th. Superstar Lionel Messi is expected to play in the match along with Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria. Messi's international ban ends on November 15th. Football Federation of Paraguay confirmed the schedule by tweeting from their official handle. Before facing Argentina, Paraguay will face Venezuela in another friendly at the same venue on November 15th.
However, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is yet to finalise the schedule. BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohagh told The Business Standard that they are working on the match.
"There are a few things that need to be settled. First is the security clearance. We certainly have the experience of successfully arranging high profile matches in the past. Another part is the finance. Both the parties have to agree upon a fee."
BFF Hopes that in a week's time, they can rope the deal, "We are working with the agents. Soon we will have a meeting with the boards. Hopefully we can come to a decision within a week." Shohagh Added.
But BFF stated that they are only interested to arrange the Argentina-Paraguay match. Not the Paraguay-Venezuela one, as suggested by the former's official post.
Argentina previously played a match against Nigeria at Dhaka in 2011, where the Latin team reigned victorious by 3-1. Messi did not score in that match albeit playing well. Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero had scored a goal each in that match.
