Bangladesh set India moderate 154-run target
It’s a below par total on a good pitch that did not offer much for the bowlers.
Bangladesh have posted 153-6 in the first innings of the second T20I match against India.
After winning the toss, India decided to put Bangladesh into bat first in Rajkot.
It's a below par total on a good pitch that did not offer much for the bowlers and the average first innings score in T20I's is 198.
Bangladesh made a good start with the openers Liton Das and Mohammad Naim batting smartly and punishing the poor deliveries.
Naim was especially good against the bowling of fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed and attacked his first three deliveries - which were all short of a length - to send them to the boundary.
As a result, Rohit Sharma was forced to make a change after Bangladesh had managed 41 runs in the first five overs.
Last game's best bowler Yuzvendra Chahal was brought into the attack and he almost had the wicket of Liton Das in the third ball of the fifth over after being stumped.
But replays showed that wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant's hands were over the stumps, which is illegal and as a result the ball was called a no ball and Liton was reprieved.
The drama continued as Liton got another chance in the next over as he was dropped but Rohit at mid-wicket off the bowling of Washington Sundar.
But Liton would not make much use of these chances as he was run-out by Pant for 29 runs in the eighth over by trying to take a single, without seeing where the ball had gone.
The wicket expectedly slowed down things for a while as new batsman Soumya Sarkar took time to settle down.
But then Chahal started to work his magic as the Bangladesh batsmen succumbed to his spin.
The result was Naim playing a slog against the bowling of Washington Sundar and being caught at deep-midwicket by Sreyash Iyer for 36 off 30 balls.
Mushfiqur Rahim, the hero from the last match, was up next but didn't last long as he was gone for four, off the bowling off Chahal.
From there, Soumya Sarkar went, after playing a few good shots but was out for 30 off 20 balls.
This time Pant managed to achieve the stumping properly, even though the third umpire was called upon for a check.
Captain Mahmudullah tried to steady things in the end, playing a few smart boundaries off the bowling of Khaleel but he too departed after scoring 30 off 21 balls to the bowling of Shivam Dube.
And as a result Bangladesh's innings ended with a whimper, despite a good start.
