Hasan, Shoriful earn maiden call-ups as Bangladesh announce squad for WI ODIs
All-rounder Mahedi Hasan and quicks Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud have been included in the squad on the back of some solid performances in the recently concluded Bangabandhu T20 Cup.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named a 18-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against the West Indies. This is going to be Tamim Iqbal's first assignment as a full-time ODI skipper. Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is also back in the side after serving a one-year suspension. His last appearance in ODI cricket was against Pakistan at Lord's in the 2019 World Cup.
Taskin Ahmed has also been recalled into the squad after the fast bowler displayed some good form with the ball. He last played an ODI more than three years back.
Naim Sheikh, Al-Amin Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Yasir Ali and Parvez Hossain Emon, who were part of the 24-member preliminary squad, have not been included.
