Bangladesh’s premier archer Mohammad Ruman Shana was eliminated from men’s recurve single in the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics Test Event at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo on Tuesday.
Shana conceded a 3-7 defeat to Sultan Duzelbayev of Kazakhstan in the round of 32 of the men’s recurve single.
Archer Ruman Shana and the German Coach of Bangladesh Archery team Martin Frederick will return home on July 19 (Friday).
Earlier, the 24-year-old Bangladeshi archer scored 662 to finish 10th among 67 archers in the ranking round on July 12 at the same venue.
The Olympics Committee organised the “Tokyo 2020 Test Event-Ready Study Tokyo” as part of the preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games.
Ruman Shana, who qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 on merit basis, took part in the event to improve his performance and skills ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
Shana also won the first-ever bronze medal in the World Archery Championship last month at s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.
