The players of Khulna and Rangpur (Tier-one) passed the whole day sitting in the dressing room of Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna because of persistent rain.
Day-one of the two matches of the National Cricket League (NCL) was washed away due to constant rain in Khulna and Rajshahi. However, the other two matches did start but were interrupted by rain as well in Dhaka and Fatullah.
The players of Khulna and Rangpur (Tier-one) passed the whole day sitting in the dressing room of Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna because of persistent rain. It was same for the players of Barishal and Sylhet (Tier-two) at the Shaheed Qamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
However, the matches between Dhaka Division and Rajshahi Divison (Tier-one) and Dhaka Metro and Chattogram Divison (Tier-two) had some play before the interruption by rain on the day one of NCL.
At Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Rajshahi won the toss and decided to bowl first. Dhaka batted for 52 overs before stumps, scoring 143 for seven wickets. Rony Talukdar was the only batsman to show some prowess hitting 63, but it was Rajshahi's Taijul Islam who glittered the most on the day bagging four wickets for 55 runs while Shafiul took three wickets.
In the other match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, Chattogram won the toss and decided to bat first. They added 147 for three in 52 overs before the rain stopped the match one and a half hours before time.
Tamim Iqbal, the national star, played for Chattogram in this match but failed to do anything remarkable as he fell for 30 off 105 deliveries. But the other opener, Sadiqur Rahman, hit a fifty. Pinak Ghosh (30) and Tasamul Haque (17) were batting when the game was stopped due to rain.
