Five times Ballon D’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has said in a recent interview that he might retire next year.
In an interview with TVI on Tuesday, the Portuguese superstar was asked about how long he plans to continue playing.
"I don't think about that," Ronaldo said. “Maybe I can finish my career next year... but I can also play up to 40 or 41.”
But the 34-year old was not sure about it, rather said that he looks to enjoy the moment. “I don't know. What I always say is to enjoy the moment. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it,” he added.
Ronaldo is motivated by trophies and accolades, and he feels that he is ahead of any other player the game has seen over the years.
“Are there any football players who have more records than me?” he asked. “I don't think there are any footballers who have more records than me.”
Ronaldo is currently playing for Juventus after he left Real Madrid in 2018. He debuted for Sporting Lisbon in 2002, before joining Manchester United in 2003.
