Taskin called up as Mustafiz dropped

Mustafizur Rahman has been dropped for Bangladesh’s solitary test against Afghanistan, whereas Taskin Ahmed and Mosaddek Hossain has been called up.
The selectors announced the squad for the test match against Afghanistan on Friday. The team was expected to be a bit different than that of Bangladesh’s last home series vs West Indies. But the real shock that came from the selectors was leaving out ‘The Fizz’. Taskin Ahmed, who missed out on the World Cup due to his injury problems has earned a call-up for his consistent form in the recent longer format matches.
Two other players have been dropped from the side’s last test squad vs New Zealand, and they are injured speedster Khaled Ahmed and Opener Tamim Iqbal, who is currently on a break from cricket.
Despite Nayeem Hasan’s impressive outing with the HP side, he has been left out to include Mosaddek Hossain, clearly to add to the team’s batting depth. Imrul Kayes was rumored to be in the side in place of Tamim, but in the end, he was not picked which means Soumya Sarkar will partner Shadman Islam as the opening pair.
Squad: Shakib Al Hasan ©, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mominul Haque, Mohammad Mithun, Liton Kumar Das, Soumya Sarkar, Shadman Islam, Mehidy Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, Abu Jayed Rahi, Ebadat Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Taijul Islam
