Women’s Empowerment Organization celebrates second anniversary
On this occasion, WEO awarded some notable women leaders for their contributions in respective sectors for the development of Bangladesh.
The Women's Empowerment Organization, a non-profit fraternity for women's welfare in Bangladesh, celebrated its second anniversary of emergence at Banani Club Banquet Hall in Dhaka yesterday.
On this occasion, WEO awarded some notable women leaders for their contributions in respective sectors for the development of Bangladesh.
The awardees were Rokia Afzal Rahman, president of Bangladesh Federation of Women's Entrepreneurs; Nilufer Ahmed Karim, president of Women's Entrepreneurs Association; Nasreen Rab Ruba, president of WIMA Ltd.; Hafiza Mamtaz Hasi, president of Association of Women Entrepreneurs; Nadia Binte Amin, president of Women Entrepreneurs Network for Development Association; Mehrin Mahmood, peace ambassador of Women's Bangladesh Federation for World Peace.
The awards were announced by Nazma Masud, founder and president of WEO. She also unveiled a memoir celebrating two years of the organization.
Nilufer Ahmed Karin, president of Women's Entrepreneurs Association said, "Women of Bangladesh are playing pivotal roles in all spheres of social and economic growth and contributing to make Bangladesh an inspiring nation. Yet, we have a long way to go and for that, we need entities and initiatives like WEO,".
