2 constables arrested over alleged provocative statements on Facebook
They have been placed on three-day remand
Two police constables have been arrested in connection with a case filed over allegedly creating chaos in the police force by inciting colleagues through provocative statements on Facebook.
The arrestees are Shoaibur Rahman, 32, and Sajib Sarkar, 27.
Confirming the arrest, Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam said the case was filed under the Cybercrime Act against more than 100 policemen by mentioning the names of 18 people.
"The arrestees were produced in the court with a 10-day remand application. The court placed them on three-day remand," he added.
