3 including mother and son murdered in Cumilla
The victims have been identified as Mahamuda Begum, 35, her son Sahab Uddin, 9, and her cousin’s daughter Tisha Akter, 14.
Three people, including a mother and her son, were brutally murdered in Cumilla's Homna upazila. The incident took place last night (4 September) at Boro Ghagutia village.

Homna police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zainal Abedin confirmed the incident.

According to him, Mahamuda's husband, Shahporan, works in Dhaka. Last night, Mahamuda, her son, and Tisha were asleep in their home. Sometime during the night, unidentified assailants attacked them, striking their heads and strangling them with scarves. The bodies were left on the bed, and the attackers fled the scene.
This morning (5 September), locals discovered the bodies in the same room and immediately informed the police. Upon arrival, the police recovered the bodies.
"The bodies bear signs of head injuries, indicating they were murdered," OC Zainal Abedin said.
The bodies have been sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Further details will be provided after the investigation, said the OC.
