4 killed in Bogura road crash
10 critically injured
Four people were killed in a head-on collision between two passenger buses early Saturday in Bogura's Sherpur upazila.
"The accident took place at Dashmile in Garidaha union in Sherpur on Dhaka-Bogura highway at around 2 am," Sherpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
At least ten more passengers were injured in the accident. They were rushed to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, he said.
The deceased are bus driver's son Raushan, 35, and bus supervisor Masud, 27 and identities of the other two remain unknown.
According to the Sherpur Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Officer, "Rangpur-bound passenger bus of Nabil Paribahan collided head-on with another bus of Srishti Paribahan coming from the opposite direction."
"Two passengers were killed on the spot while two others were rushed to hospital in critical condition," he said.
Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Deputy Director Abdul Wadud said two of the injured were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
