Indian soldiers who fought in Liberation War visit Tangail
A 68-member team led by Major General Narayan Shankar Nari (retired) of India visited Tangail
A team of Indian fighters who participated in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 visited Kalihati upazila of Tangail district on the occasion of birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of the country's independence.
The team visited the Baniafaur area of the upazila on Saturday. Two local freedom fighters met the team during their visit and shared their memories.
The 68-member team led by Major General Narayan Shankar Nari (retired) visited the place. The team includes 30 Indian army members and many of them visited along with their wives.

Area Commander of 19th Infantry Division, Ghatail, Major General Syed Tareq Hossain along with his wife welcomed the team when they arrived at Shaheed Salahuddin Cantonment in Tangail.
Major General Narayan Shankar Nari said the Indian female army landed in Kalihati upazila and fought against the Pakistani Military on 9 December 1971. During the time, common people and freedom fighters cooperated with them significantly.
"We are very proud of becoming allies during the Liberation War of Bangladesh," the official added.
Later, the team left Tangail for Dhaka around 2:30pm.
