Stern action will be taken if corruption allegation against any officer-employee of the ministry is detected, Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain said today (28 August).
He said the ministry will carry investigation with the help of the Detective Branch of police against the amassment of illegal wealth by officers and employees in the last 15 years.
The adviser said this while speaking at a seminar organised by Darul Arkam Madrasha project at the conference room of Islamic Foundation in the city's Agargaon.
"A committee will be formed to identify those who destroyed the image of the Islamic Foundation," he said, adding that the ministry will also form another committee to investigate corruption allegations in implementation of Model Mosques project.
The adviser assured that he would discuss with Madrasa Education Board about introduction of stipend for Madrasha students.
Islamic Foundation Director General (DG) Dr Md Bashirul Alam presided over the meeting while religious affairs ministry secretary Md Abdul Hamid Jamaddar, Mosque-based Children and Mass Education Program director Shafiul Alam, Darul Arkam Ibtedayi Madrasa project director Md Abdus Sabur and IF's ICT and Planning Department Director Md. Abdullah Al Masud, among others, spoke at the seminar.
