Banani fire: HC asks ex-Rajuk chief engineer to surrender
Saidur Rahman has one week to surrender
The High Court today asked former Rajuk chief engineer Saidur Rahman to surrender before a trial court within one week in Banani's FR tower design forgery case.
The High Court bench of Justice Nazrul Islam Talukdar and Justice K M Hafijul Alam gave the order after hearing his plea seeking anticipatory bail.
The Anti-Corruption Commission on June 25 filed two cases accusing 23 people including Saidur Rahman over violations of the law in approving the design and construction of the tower in the Banani area of the capital.
The building caught fire on March 27 last that left 25 people dead and 73 others injured.
