He also expressed hope that it would be possible to establish a non-communal economy in Bangladesh with the cooperation of all.
Citizens of all religions have equal rights in Bangladesh, said Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen.
"We freed Bangladesh through people of all communities fighting side by side. If everyone is together we will definitely succeed in all fields," said the minister while visiting the Puja mandop at the Kemal Ataturk Park in Banani of the capital.
"We are happy because we have defeated the evil people of the society. Not only during puja, but throughout the year we have to be vigilant so that these people never arise again," the foreign minister said.
He also expressed hope that it would be possible to establish a non-communal economy in Bangladesh with the cooperation of all.
Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) Vice-Chancellor Satya Prasad Majumder and leaders of the Puja Celebration Committee were present on the occasion.
