Inu placed on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court today (27 AUgust) granted seven-day remand for Jatiya Samajtanthrik Dal (JSD) President and former information minister Hasanul Haque Inu in a case involving murder accusations related to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider issued the order.
Court sources said Inu was arrested and brought before the court in connection with a case for murder of businessman Abdul Wadud in city's New Market area.
Earlier, a team of DB police arrested Inu from a house in Uttara yesterday (26 August).
A case was filed naming Hasanul Haque Inu and 130 others as defendants, along with ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, former law minister Anisul Haque, and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
The case was filed on 21 August by the victim's relative Abdur Rahman, at New Market police station.
