Ex-AL MP Bodi's 'cashier' detained at Sylhet airport
Former Awami League MP Abdur Rahman Bodi's yaba trade "cashier" was detained at the Sylhet Airport this afternoon (2 September).
Confirming the matter, RAB-15 Additional Superintendent of Police Abul Kalam Chowdhury said Salahuddin, Ukhiya upazila union member, was detained while trying to flee the country.
The RAB official, however, did not give any further details on the grounds of his detainment.
Earlier on 21 August, a court sent Bodi, former AL lawmaker from Cox's Bazar-4 constituency, to jail in an attempted murder case.
Bodi was arrested the night before from Chattogram's GEC intersection area in a case filed over allegations of attempted murder of BNP leader Mohammad Abdullah.
Abdullah filed the case with Teknaf Police Station on 19 August.
Bodi is a two-time Member of Parliament from Cox's Bazar-4 (Ukhiya-Teknaf) constituency.
He was denied nomination in the December 2018 national election in the face of fierce criticism for his involvement in various illicit activities including yaba smuggling.
