Kolkata-bound passenger held with 1.5kg gold at Dhaka airport
A Kolkata-bound passenger of US Bangla Airlines was held in this regard
Members of the Customs Intelligence today seized 1.5 kilograms of gold worth Tk75 lakh from a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The passenger, named Md Pasha, was going to Kolkata on a flight of US Bangla Airlines.
Dr Md Shahidul Islam, director general of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
A team of the intelligence agency including some officials of Civil Aviation found 15 gold bars inside his shoes and pockets after searching near outbound boarding bridge of the airport, he said.
