Cumilla youth shot dead by BSF, body to be sent back today

The Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) shot dead another Bangladeshi national yesterday (7 October).
The deceased, identified as Kamal Hossain, 32, was killed in BSF firing in the Tripura state of India yesterday evening, BGB-10 Captain Lt Colonel Md Iftekhar Hossain confirmed to The Business Standard.
"We have strongly protested the killing. But we are not yet sure why the youth went there," he told TBS.
"We have been informed that his body will be sent back to Bangladesh after an autopsy," the BGB official added.
According to locals in Cumilla Sadar's Paharpur area, shots were heard around 7:00pm Monday near the border area. Later, at around midnight, the death of Kamal's report spread in the locality.
Kamal, son of Idu Mia, was a resident of Cumilla Sadar's Kruiapara Fakirmura area.
He is the latest Bangladeshi to be shot dead by the BSF.
Earlier in September, at least two teenagers were shot dead by the Indian force. Bangladesh lodged formal protests with the Indian government over the incidents.
